This is very true. There is this girl that's a customer at the grocery store I work at and we always look at each other, yet never smile or say anything. 
Now I have a crush on her, yet I don't want her to think that I like her, because she never smiles, so I don't know wether she likes me.
She's always alone and wears headphones, and my homie that's working there as well, also said that she looks like she's in her own world.
She regularly walks down the aisles that I'm in, without getting anything from there and when I'm standing, talking to my colleagues, she walks by and turns around and looks at me. Could be coincidence, but 9.7 times out of 10 there is no one behind me, so I hope its not lmao.
I do want to break this cycle, so the next time she comes in, I will smile at her and say hi.

That's partially true that I do that if I like her. I didn't smile because I was super nervous. It was also that I saw her with another dude form a couple weeks ago so I sort of lost my confidence. It's not that I don't wanna smile.

She also initiates the eye contact first most of the times now. I am an idiot that didn't pick up that sign that she may be interested in me. I will see her again on this Tuesday. I am gonna ask her out if possible or at least have a little talk with her. :D

What I would like to know, someday, if 'time' ever brings the answer. Is why a guy would look at me in the eye and look hostile. Not, not smile, but actually look angry, like the eye contact equivalent of pushing one away. I had never experienced this before until about three weeks ago. And now though I've gotten the whole is-he-interested-in-me out of my system (decided it wasn't worth it) I still can't get that 'look' out of my head. It left me with a bad feeling. I guess I'd really like to know what it meant because it seemed so negative. Did it mean, he is threatened by me? Or, he wants me to stay the hell away from him (I was never really not staying away from him). Or he's mad that I am not approaching him more? Or maybe even something more hateful. I would really like to know. So that I could know how to protect myself, if there is something I need protecting from.
