For anybody paranoid, just switch which leg is on top for each set.

I appreciate your content and thanks for demystifying things that do not really matter in the grand schemes of things that can often lead to overthinking.

Great advice. I definitely think about this when I do these movements but I generally pride myself on focusing on things that matter and ignoring the minutiae. Maybe there's a difference but not enough to matter in any practical way.

Overthinking just makes training more mentally draining, which turns you off from training in the future.

I still train with legs uncrossed because it just looks better and stronger in my opinion 😊

I cross my legs on dips and pull ups because: on dips, my range of motion is so huge that I touch the floor at the bottom lol. And on pull ups, I have a tendency to cave my chest and kick with my legs on the last two reps, so crossing them prevents me from doing so and I can focus just on brute forcing reps with my back

i think it makes a difference during weighted dips, especially in street lifting, it’s better to keep legs straight

@Solomon --- DAT SYMMETRY THOUGH 😊

(Don't forget. It's mandatory for you! 🙂🤗💪👏)

its not for muscle imbalances, its for energy leaking. if you keep a tight core and rigid legs you can do more

Whenever I do pullups with my legs crossed, my body starts swinging with increasing amplitude, which eventually causes me to pause. With straight legs it doesn't happen, so I can do more repetitions in shorter time

One thing worth’s mentioning is that its important to add some asymmetrical work to make sure both sides of the body are getting their focus 😇

I have to cross legs on pull-ups and simply because my dip bars and and door way for pull-ups are not high enough for me to do the exercises with a straight body.

Apples and oranges. Nobody working out in the long run (over the course of decades) benefits from deliberately introducing an imbalance into their form, i.e., crossing your legs during a a dip, pull up or push up. It isn't something anyone is going to notice the first 10 to 15 years of doing it, but eventually, constantly crossing left leg over right adds up to create an imbalance that is preventable.
Specious reasoning to say that an innate asymmetry in how we run or bench press justifies ignoring a matter as simple as avoiding the bad form of constantly crossing one's legs.

My view is: you should do whatever you need to do to get your chin over the bar for the maximum number of reps. If crossing your legs is acting as a cue to someone to tighten their core then thats what they should do.

Crossing legs means less core activation and more balancing especially in weighted pull ups

What drives me crazy is that my non-dominate side is more muscular to the point I overtrain my other side to try and catch up. It almost makes me not want to work out at all.

What about core engagement when going weighted in these exercises?

Leg lenght discrepancy is like 1 mm bro it doesn't affect unless you're deformed or growth injury with leg lenght greater than 5 mm

It's not because of imbalances, you shouldn't cross your legs because it makes it easier an takes strain off your core. I've never heard anyone say it could cause imbalances
