So early in Springtime, with the surrounding area being so lusciously green, one would think food shotage isn't a problem! Last season was my first season watching the White and Black Storks. Never had heard of brood reduction, thought it was very sad to watch, but made sense coz the Storklets don't boink or kill one another like the Raptors do, so it's a duty for the parents. It's really hard to watch when the Storklets are too big for the Mama Storks to swallow. Even these lil' Storklets that are selected gives the parent a hella fight struggling for their lives...Nature is BeAuTiFuLlY Cruel...

In nature, this serves two purpose. Nourishment for the parent so it can take care of the other kids. And weeding of those that are weak, small and potentially a very bad candidate for passing on genes. These are from the bird's instincts, which means the path of evolution have wired its brain this way.

Про аистов говорят, что они приносят детей. Они убивают детей и съедают . Самые маленький и слабый птенец остался до следующего раза, как проголодается. А довольно крепкого птенца съел.
