I think this project is single-handedly going to change TES fans expectations of what to expect from TES6 when it finally comes out. If enough people get into these old-school mechanics, Bethesda might have to add more depth to the systems of the new release.

That's probably wishful thinking, though. I have a feeling the new TES game will basically be The Sims with swords. They seem to dumb it down more and more with every iteration.

I´m a big Elder Scrolls fan but started with Morrowind (awesome game) when I was 19yo. 20 years later, I tried Daggerfall for the first time
and I have to say it´s a great and huge RPG with so much freedom. Just love it.

Good installation guide. I did openMW as well yesterday but haven’t started cause it didn’t port saves lol. Thanks man much appreciated! I felt so dumb not knowing how to unzip files and stuff cause I’ve been a console gamer my whole life. Definitely a great guide

i was out of daggerfall for a while, came back, but the dungeons were too dark ! so i went and started playing ES3 Morrowind... but after modding that, i still felt it was lacking in comparisson to Daggerfall.

i couldn't remember how i modded ES2 after spending so much time editing Morrowind, but this video brought it all back -- Thanks --

Hey GamerZakh! Big Up for what you're doing here, giving this wonderful fan-made Daggerfall project even more visibility and accessibility! 👍😀 I tested Daggerfall first a few years ago when the simple UESP version (with Eye of Argonia) was the best you could have. Tested again with Unity 0.13.4 & mods not so long ago... Now, as amazing and tempting as the GOG cut may be, it will actually be outdated next week, as the 0.14 version of DfU is around the corner (and personally I think I'll wait for 1.0 before diving into this again), so here's my question: will you continue working with GOG and upgrade their cut regularly? Cheers! 😄

I started out on morrowind on the original Xbox, played em all since...except elder scrolls online..that was horrible. But I seen a guy streaming daggerfall and it seems amazing..so I ordered an optiplex off ebay for a little dos games only machine . I'm excited.

its has come long ways using mods I still have anthology set came with Daggerfall I like Daggerfall Unity on gog came preinstalled with mods i had troubles installing them on other ways

I'm testing a 13.5 unity version modpack right now, which consists of 90-100 mods. It works on linux and contain most of the good mods. Still a while before I call it done but it becomes more stable by the day. There are also a few mods which are off by default but can be switched on if you like it (like ironman stuff and such). This is assebled by my self the old manual way.

...so uhhh... what's the issue with the modpack that makes you spawn under the map anytime you do anything? Exiting the tutorial dungeon, you're under the map falling infinitely. Fast travel to Daggerfall, you're under the map falling infinitely. Like it took me a lot longer than it should have to complete the tutorial and I was rewarded with... a view of hills above me as I fall into the void.

I'm having probs with permissions? The devs put the game data in the appdata folder?? That folder is hidden in windows by default. Can I change where that data goes? I thought for sure the devs of unity would avoid the windows folders for the game data.

What happens when you download and unzip a file, the has BOTH a .dfmod file AND a folder conaingin other files? For example the Acquisition mod. ??

I'll be honest, I already played Morrowind, Oblivion and Daggerfall even Arena, but I never finish them because my mind was like, I want to play Skyrim because its more beautiful, but I want so much finish them so I have to use those mods remaster-remake
