It only works with special type c to type c monitor cable. Not every type c cables are works

What helped me is to also unplug the tv at the at the wall plug for 10 seconds, then plug it back in again. The tv connects again and all that frustration subsides!
It’s almost as if the tv needed a reset from being unplugged at the wall plug. My MacBook now connects to my Samsung M7 screen.

my monitor doesn't have a USB type C port, can I do this with a Disply port to USB type C cable and STILL charge my computer through it or at least maintain the power if the voltave supplied is not high enough???
