I doubt she was abused. She went into this crazy idea because she got support from people who either wanted to scam other people such as her business partner or people who did not do proper research. She probably got even more support because she was a women and they many wanted to be part of it.

I think you will find that Elizabeth went to great lengths to silo various aspects of the company to prevent participants from having a full picture. There was also a great deal of effort to force nondisclosure agreements on the people who were fired for asking questions and raising doubts. 7 law firms were on retainer to that end. George Schultz's grandson Tyler finally called their bluff at great personal expense in his relationship with his grandfather and fighting a civil court case brought against him by David Boies' law firm on behalf of Theranos.

Basically she got the idea from looking at her home computer printer.
Watching the printer, print stuff…. And the idea of a finger prick from diabetes monitor
Having the idea of a second grader came up with a printer style biotech machine.

If you think her idea of a finger prick technology was far fetch you have to remember that her original start-up idea was a wearable patch that does all the diagnosis and cures you in real-time and not the Edison. That idea came after the fact that the patch was so far-fetch she gave up on it after spending years of doing researching and she even patent it. The patch was supposed to have built-in wifi and Bluetooth so it can communicate with doctors so will know what medicine to insert into your skin. Think about that. A wearable patch that has all the medicine put into it and has Bluetooth and wifi and also a large enough battery to sustain and provide power all day long. This was in 2003 now. That was the original product that she wants to put out in the market, not the Edison.

Excelent reporter I agree with the breath of what she said BUT (and this is a big but) to the fact that she is a woman, which is true I'd also add the fact that she's a narcicist, she just simply can't get away unchecked of what concious damage she knew she was doing at the most elementary human level and ts consequences, and still she carried away with it.

This “trial” is just a waste of time. She’s not gonna go to prison at all. She’ll get fined a few thousand or million dollars, have to do community service and that’s it. This is all crap and they know it.
