This is the full recording of 4 minecraft bots controlled by different AI language models attempting to survive for 10 days. The participants are chatgpt, claude, gemini, and llama. They don't do very well, but it is interesting nonetheless. They really really really like collecting wood.

We really take for granted all the calculations our brains do every second whenever we play videogames. Such complex tasks that require so much context to make each split second decision. Even "easy" things like building a dirt hut can be broken down to a huge flowchart of decisions. Our brains really are amazing, and it's interesting that we're trying to replicate them by artificial means, and we're making progress.

At 24:48 I noticed that Gemini was smart enough to not break the wood blocks that are keeping the water contained in the farm as they’re collecting them! It was interesting to see as they spent the first day standing still around their spawn point for the most part.
