I've always been fascinated by this story... She didn't deserve that terrible end of her life

"She apologized to her executioner for standing on his foot." A class act until her final moment. She'll always be my Queen 👑

Thank you for debunking the stereotypes about the queen. She certainly did not deserve the gross defamation some historians have smirched her image with as neither did she deserve the false accusation of the expensive jewelry scandal.

I honestly hope that Marie Antoinette is happier in her next life

She was a child when she was forced to marry and become a queen, she certainly did not deserve to die the way she did.

She was known for having a few baths a week. She was the cleanest in comparison to everyone else there and they found her eccentric. She was way more normal than the rest of them x

If only Marie was 5 decades early today she would have been remembered as a queen with an exceptional eye for art and fashion who had taken the whole court of Versailles with her fresh and exquisite dresses … how ironic

Maybe they singled her out & blamed her.... instead of the King because she wasn't French

She may have not deserved her brutal fate, the French people didn't deserve to starve either. Hungry people do extreme things.

I feel so bad for them because they were so young to lead a country. She was treated hand and foot by everything and everyone no matter where she went.

Marie Antoinette raised the status of French society because of her style and lavish dressing and hairstyles it will always be something of admiration to tourist and people outside france.

Tragic as her fate was, her innocent children were themselves treated worse and inhumanely. The poor kids suffered before dying, something that no child deserves.

I've seen the bio movie of MarieAntoinette and read some of the history. By all accounts if Louis XVI was able to pay attention to her as a husband she could have been a "different queen"".Without the interest of her husband she took to "shopping, gambling, and finding ways to fill her time. She was ultimately charged with the buying of a necklace that was not true. she didn't deserve her fate.

I could believe she said to let the poor eat cake if there is no bread. She probably didn't know any better. Cake and bread might have been the same thing to her. She was so young when she came into a country, a language and a court she wasn't familiar to. And getting everything you want at so young an age, I bet that messed up her worldview. If anything, she was probably trying to help the French people by saying they should eat cake.

Thank you for clearing the poor souls name. Marie Antoinette sounds like a lovely women who got caught up and done in by gossip as so many are to this day. You would think the world would learn from such horrible moments that repeat in history not to believe everything they hear, see and even things on the tv etc. Scandles bring those people a fortune, and all built on lies, it's disgusting. RIP Xxx.

Many peoples died by mobs simply just because they are just a collateral damage from a widespread anger. It doesn't even matter wheather the queen were living in such lavish luxurious style or not. She simply just being a Queen in such a difficult time is already a crime in the mobs eyes. When poverty and hunger is rampant, the mobs of peasants need someone to be blamed, to satisfied their anger, while for the elites one, they need someone to be a scapegoat so that they can divert the attention and the madness of peasants away from them.

I saw two movie versions of Marie Antoinette one of them was with Kirsten Dunst. The other was an old black and white movie from the 30's where just as as she is lead to the guillotine, the scene goes into a flashback where she cries "Mummy! I'm going to be a queen!"

I swear, it was at that part I began to tear up. 😢 😭😭😭

Everyone saying she didn't deserve it and she tried her best, that doesn't cut it. She's the queen of a failing country where children are starving on the streets while she spends millions on clothes and parties. I get that she was 100% setup for failure and she's a sweet lady, but that doesn't absolve you of your responsibilities. If you're the leader of a failing country, you're on the chopping block regardless of how well intentioned you are. If nothing else, it would have made the next queen a bit more motivated to ensure the success of her country knowing the fate of her predecessor.
