I predict that there will be a Mk II version coming along in a year with the MC phono input and double sub outputs. Of course it will also include the obligatory 25-40% price increase.

Obviously, the star here is the overall aesthetic and meters.

However, the more one learns about what Yamaha is doing, the star is revealed to be the execution, ... a solid piece, with a range of multiple attributes.

Hopefully we're in the eve of a retro arms race of releases!
- Wouldn't it be wonderful to see Pioneer release a Spec 1 retro homage loaded with current state of the art best practices?

- How about a Soundcraftsman full stack?
The had those amazing power output LEDs; both left-to-right, and vertical.

They had nicely layed out preamps, graphic EQs, LED spectral analyzers, multiple amplifiers.
All matching in a stack.

- way too niche to be successful, but a replication of Sinatra's famous three channel rig at Two Palms;
Presto reel-to-reel, McIntosh pre, Fisher tuner, feeding three big Altec monitors, left, center and right, powered by three custom Valentino monoblocks.

Yeah, way too niche ...
But Pioneer and Soundcraftsman, hell yeah bring them back!

YPAO is a good electronic room correction system, but it DOES have its limits. If your room is highly reflective or significantly asymmetrical (side to side or front to back), YPAO's limits become very quickly audible. Give YPAO a hand by installing absorbers, diffusers, and/or bass traps, and THEN your YPAO-enabled electronics will sound a LOT better.

Absolutely pointless display: "Qobuz" -- yea, thanks for the depth of information.
