I grew up in the 60's and 70's and still wear tube socks.

What's funny is my buddies and I would go bowling a lot, and at the alleys there would always be this incredible line to play their Pong machine. I recall one of our group saying, "I don't know how they're going to top this."

The other recollection was that Clackers had to be banned in my school, because some of the boys discovered you could throw them like the South American Gauchos threw bolas.

Stilts, pogo stick, hoppity hop, batmitting, catching fire flies, satin shorts with white seam up side, comb in back pocket……

Sweet share and memories. 1970 - 1980 were my wonder years. I remember 6 out of 6.

Cheese balls are still a thing, every Christmas.

We all had wristbands also, like the tennis players did. Quite the fashion accessory.
I had about 15 pairs, sometimes we'd trade them with each other at school.

I loved a new pack of tube socks every September for school.. I’d pick out the ones that matched closest to my favorite football teams..

I wear tube sock to this day. I actually grew up in the 50s and 60s, though.

I remember them all. I played a lot of Pong at Shakey’s Pizzeria in Stockton, California. Loved the “Brady Bunch”.

I easily remember all of them.
Thank goodness I never had a bowl cut!!
Pre-teen years, I always had a crew cut.
From age 13 up (until I began losing my hair), I had nearly shoulder length hair that was so naturally curly on the end couple of inches, all the way around, that people accused me of having a "perm" like a girl.
Whenever I could pull the curl of my bangs down, and have it touch the tip of my nose, that was when my mom (during my teens) would insist that I go to the barber and get 2"-3" cut off the whole thing.
Now at 60, I am nearly bald.
Man, I miss my hair!

Six things, the last would scare today's children:
Show them an Elgin Street Sweeper in action.

I remember playing Pong. Mine was a red board two round black knobs on each side.

I got clackers in 1977 in Australia and couldn't clack them all the way from bottom to top so came up with a game of throwing them up in the air on my school oval. Could have killed someone!! I also remember slime with worms, slinkies, baby alive who used to poo, looking at dolls, and foam poppa's that would pop when you pinched them. Not to forget the boys, smash em up Derby cars and Steve Austin dolls. I also remember pop wheels shoes that we could skate on and 20 cent bubble gum machines with whoppa gumballs. Also had ABBA socks and earings while my best friend had a bay city rollers pillow and a waterbed. We would cut cardboard and peg it to the spokes of our bikes to make an engine noise as we rode.

We had Pong on a Commodore 64 computer. We all wore the knee-high tube socks with the shorts of one color and the trim on the seams was another color. I know a lady who still makes killer good cheese balls. The clackers were deadly, and I didn't have them but my friend did. I never had a bowl haircut, but I'm female so...
