It took me 20 years to realize he didn't leave because of me.
He left because my toxic mother.

I was just a LITTLE too young when Nevermind came out to call that my generation's zeitgeist--Dookie was the pinnacle of my teen years. It was suddenly everywhere---MTV, radio, clothing: I played the cassette until it stopped working, then I bought it again. This magnificent song kicked it all off.
