When a roofer is on the roof, they're very aware of what they're leaving in the gutters. They're also aware that the homeowner can't see it from street level. Can't trust anyone these days, but I'm glad you brought this to attention.

My home was built in 2002 and I didn't even think about a new roof until somebody came to my door saying they'd do an estimate and tell me what condition it is in. The first company, first price was $59, 000! Now granted I have a steep roof. 2100 sqft home. They went down to $46, 000, then $35, 000 paying cash. Needless to say, I declined. Second company just estimted $25, 000 with cash discount. Its getting more to where I may consider it.

$13, 700 was cheap. Here in Florida south of Tampa Bay roofs for 2500 sq ft are running 25K to 30K for GAF Timberline HDZ shingles. They have to be replaced every 15 years due to insurance requirements.. The lifetime warranty is a sales gimmick because the homeowners has to prove the singles were defective in the manufacturing process.

Once I pay off my debt with bestbuy I am getting a loan or trying for a loan so I can get a roof replacement and get our ceiling fixed in the living room and kitchen. I would love to be able to replace my own roof but it would probably still cost too much. I own the house finally even though it was already paid off. It was owned by my step dad. It was built in 1870.

no nails are not exeptable . we run a magnet multiple times . and gutters do need to be cleaned . the warranty does say life time but you should expect 25 to 30 years . that shingle is what they used to call a 30 year shingle, the only thing they changed was wording of warranty.

My house was built 2006 n same age the shingle. Insurance only paid me Actual Cash Value. I’m responsible my 4100 deductible n my non recovery depreciation. My house square foots 2400 one storage house. My Contrartor said replace cost me $17k. Does that sound rite price?? N next question is how can I tell what type of shingle my roof life span? N if they replace do they replace same shingle I got on my roof? Thanks 🙏 FYI my roof age is around 16 years old

Just had my roof replaced yesterday along with some new plywood sheeting under the singles where it was damaged. 850 sq ft roof cost me 7100. Seems about right after seeing this video at 1900 sq ft and 13k.

$13, 700 is cheap. The company I asked to do a bid for me quoted me $30k for a new roof...its really ridiculous. House is less than 1200 sq ft. And this is 2023.

I had quotes between 10k and 21k. I actually went with Lowes. They weren't the cheapest, but I know they'll still be in business in ten years which is the guarantee on the workmanship and they have a year with no interest deal.

They want around 22, 000 to do my roof and that's only for 20% of the wood and my house is only average size

I normally diy everything, but my house was built in the 1800s and the roof is absurdly steep and tall. No way in hell I am climbing up there. But we had it done in 2013 and it’s already leaking in spots and needs replaced. Not happy about the last job that was done at all.

We’re due for a new roof. Our insurance has increased because it’s time to replace - next year is our goal. Our home was built in the 80’s too.
