How much does fitting a new bathroom cost? - Bathroom tips from Victoria Plum

The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the house and although they do need to be functional and practical they can also be a real statement of design and style.

Having surveyed our own network of accredited installers we’ve come up with this short guide to give you an idea of what the cost of your new bathroom could be.

The cost of a new bathroom can be broken down into 3 main areas.

1. The suite.
The bathroom suite often forms the backbone of your bathroom and will generally include a bath or shower, plus a basin and a toilet. In addition to this you would add bathroom furniture and accessories such as mirrors and lighting.

2. Installation of your bathroom products
The cost of installation varies depending on a number of factors such as the size of your bathroom, how many tradespeople you require and whether or not you need to move services around, like changing the location of the plumbing for your bath or toilet, or installing electrical works.
3. Decoration and finishing
The cost for this again depends on specific requirements, this may include things like flooring, tiling and painting & decorating.

The final consideration is the removal cost for your old bathroom, money can definitely be saved here if you can do some of this yourself

We believe that for an average size bathroom with a fairly standard installation the cost is around £7,200, and with a suite and products added in around £9,800 in total. If you are simply swapping in a new suite then you may be able to achieve this for considerably less.

And don't forget our bathroom design and installation service.
