The Best Authentic New Orleans Beignets Recipe

Ingredients:
for the dough:
All purpose flour-2 cups ( 250 g)
Active dry yeast-1 heaped teaspoon
Sugar-3 tablespoon+ 1 teaspoon
Lukewarm water-1/4 cup (60 ml)
milk ( room temperature)-100 ml
salt-1/4 teaspoon
Egg- 1 ( room temperature)
vanilla essence-1 teaspoon
Melted butter-2 tablespoon

Powdered sugar -1/2 cup for coating
Oil-1 for frying
All purpose flour-1/4 ( for dusting)

for baked donuts:
milk- 2 to tablespoon
butter -2 tablespoon

Baking:
Bake in a preheated oven at 170C for 15-20 minutes.

Frying :
Oil temperature: 360 F

Incredible recipe, I added cheese to the dough mix and took away the powdered sugar for a more savory vibe and worked out great.

I made these and they were BOMB. I topped them off with some honey and powdered sugar, everyone loved it! I'm gonna. Make more later, these were worth it!!

I use this recipe for anything, I’ve even made crème brûlée donuts with this 😂 it’s not just a beignet recipe you can literally make any donut type item using this and it will always be perfect.

Thanks for this post. I followed the directions exactly as posted. The beignets turned out fabulous. Perfect. The recipe is much easier than I had expected. I will absolutely be making these again soon!

I just made these this evening and getting ready to bake them. I had been looking for a simple recipe and came across this one and the music was very pleasant and soothing. Not afraid to make baked goods that require yeast and I'm going to bake mine's. 😋

Thank you so much for the wonderful recipe. I'm a big fan of your channel and am so excited to try more of your recipes.

I am a home chef/baker who occasionally sells. I also don't have a fridge atm so I had to make this recipe with some substitutes.

I am making a triple batch with a combo of bread and all purpose flour. Used 6.8 grams of instant yeast. Replaced milk with a 250 ml honey vanilla Greek yogurt + 51 ml water mixture. Adjusted salt because I have salted butter and adjusted sugar amount by about 3 tbsp, because the yogurt already has honey (15 grams of sugar/170 grams of yogurt) & I'm not a big sweet tooth (and here I am making at least 60 beignets... 🤣💖 I do it especially for my wonderful, sweet-tooth partner and I grew up eating beignets 💖)

I had to add probably around 150 to 200 grams extra flour to the dough because my all purpose and climate are really weird sometimes.

I will be adjusting the rising time for or my higher altitude, dry and cold climate 😊

I'll report back with the results 💖

Update: they're absolutely scrumptious. Unbelievably soft, fluffy, moist, and with a gorgeous, delicious crust! I feel like I'm a kid again 💖 thank you
