😢 I was in a relationship years ago with a guy just like this monster and it literally drove me to the brink of insanity. I broke it off through text, didn’t even wait more than 5 min for a response. Blocked him and changed my number, blocked him from all social media including his friends/ relatives, and moved to another city. There was only 1 bed available in a shelter 3 counties away. With 3 other women asleep and in the dark, I climbed the bed ladder to the top bunk with baby tucked inside my sweatshirt. It was the best sleep I got in months since having her. That was 15 years ago and now we both are living our best lives, my teenager and me. Thanks for bringing your relentless awareness on the cycle of abuse. The former partner? He hasn’t changed but I keep very strict boundaries and never fall for the manipulation. This is another example of how the most dangerous time in an abusive relationship is the 18-24 mos after you’ve left. To go to these lengths is SO scary, he just got more & more angry that she didn’t listen to him, comply w/ his demands & get back with him like she had many times before & that she stopped answering his incessant, harassing calls. I wouldn’t call self defense getting trashed, in your car, driving 2 hours to a house you clearly weren’t wanted at, with a loaded gun, getting out & shooting 3 ppl in the head. Furthest thing from self defense. Altogether unnecessary. I feel awful that after all she’d been through in the relationship, she lost her father over this.

"I'll let you know.", clearly tells anyone, that the speaker is in control of their time, and is also responsible for further contact if necessary. I someone tells you that, and you don't get a call or text back, the person doesn't need your help or input. Under no circumstances would 99.99% of sane individuals take that phrase to mean physically going to the person.

I think Joshua's neighbor summed it up perfectly. "He has done one too many tours." Unfortunately, there are a lot of young men and women who are walking around out there having seen the horrors of war, and their PTSD is left untreated. I hope Rebecca gets some therapy to realize this is no way her fault. The only actions you can control are your own. This lays solely on Johsua. I hope he gets the mental help he so desperately needs. He ruined so many people's lives.

I’ve grown up here and this is a VERY common occurrence at least 4 cases a week of this I literally hear the people above me in my apartment abusing each other and their kids but I’m too scared to do anything about it plus I can’t imagine the kids being placed anywhere better and that’s of the cops do anything which they most likely won’t
