My father used to play this for me as a child on his stereo and as a lullaby. He's passed now and every time I hear this it brings back wonderful memories and tears. I always tried to play this on our piano and never got it right at all. Thank you for this beautiful song.

This is one of David's more precious tunes. "Cristofori's Dream" is about the inventor of the piano, Bartolomeo Cristofori, who was a harpsichord builder. Apparently, Cristofori fell asleep at his work bench, and dreamed (envisioned an invention) which would ultimately become the Concert Grand Piano! David plays amazingly here, and very emotively; when emphasis is demanded, he plays louder; when soft, gentle feelings are needed, he plays more gently. Brilliant, simply brilliant! Listen for a reversion back to a simple Music Box at the end. Well done, David, you certainly are a channeling Spirit, my friend! And in a hurting world, we need your love and beauty! Thank you!

Cristofori's Dream is my second fav song of all time.  I lie in bed listening with my a headphones on and I picture myself watching intently every tickle of the ivory and there I am in total awe and wonderment.  The music just surrounds me.  Sooo simple, wonderful and beautiful..

A man walks the streets alone. His world is as black as the night's sky. He is desolate and despondent. He seemingly has lost everything. As he wonders the streets, he contemplates the worst..."I have nothing, why not end it?" He repeats endlessly in his mind. The man isn't capable of focusing on anything other than the darkness that has enveloped his world. As he passes a solitary house, he faintly hears the keys of a piano. Without provocation he unconsciously walks towards the sound. As he gets closer, the sound grows louder yet more enigmatic. Suddenly, he finds himself peering through an open window and sees the lovely red hair of a woman gently swaying back and forth as she gracefully plays this song. He listens to the music while mesmerized by her enchanting red hair. As the song drew to a close, the man looked around and realized that his world was no longer black and now was filled with vibrant color. And as he made the realization, the woman stepped away from the piano and slowly walked towards him. She purposely made no acknowledgement of his presence other than her unbreakable eye contact. Standing directly in front of the man now, he was quite unsure of her intentions. After a few moments she slowly drew the blinds closed and that was the last time he ever saw her and the last time he ever heard the song that saved his life.
