Thanks for this super transparent video Neet. I've always felt behind the pack because I moved to a high COL city with my fiancée and haven't found a "big tech" job yet. These numbers helped me realize I'm doing relatively just fine. Now I know what to expect when a big tech job lines up.

Those amounts sound unreal outside of US bubble 😢

badass outro "if you can get more money, in any circumstance, and you're not getting that, technically you are underpaid"

I made $234k at a startup as an entry level in SF, faang isn’t the highest paying anymore. If you’re looking to make a ton as an entry level engineer, find a tech unicorn to work for at a risk of overworking and burning out but you learn a lot :)

That’s a bit surprising, as an L4 (entry level) at Amazon, I make $180k(seattle/cali), which is broken down as $130k base, $45k Sign on bonus, and like $5k RSU (very little in first year).

I use to think Google will pay you a lot more or at least around the same amount, and looked forward to joining it (bc of the assumed pay and thought it would be more chill 😂)

Now I wonder if these tech YouTubers are lying when they see they have received an offer with total comp of $300k, $360k (like jomatech and some other YouTubers have said)… those amounts are probably for senior levels or above and managers.. (or I thought that’s probs google)

But hey appreciate you for sharing your salary, something almost no one does. Please share more about your day of life on Google. Like are there standups everyday? Do you have to present or demo frequently? Do you have to participate in a lot of design reviews in a room of several seniors, and what’s that process like (is it scary)

This is like 3 times what you would get as a 1 YOE software engineer in Australia.

There's a pattern for certain part of the world being absolutely moronic in the chat, 0 respect for free content lmao

It's important that these figures matched those you declare to IRS :-)

What about lunch cafeteria, gym, healthcare? I think FAANG gives you all the best goodies.

I was so confused until I realized Google uses L3 for entry level. The companies I've worked for started L1 (interns didn't have a level), so L4 was like senior or staff level and should be 300+ TC

Ima cry if this is real bro wtf? I thought most SENIOR software engineers, web devs, etc., made like mid $100, 000s like $130, 000-$150, 000 a year.
