Almost every time we mention to a potential client that we are able to make up to 11.5" wide solid boards, they are in disbelief. In this video we breakdown why these boards are so stable, and compare them to traditionally plain sawn board. As well, we will walk you through the manufacturing process of our Whit Oak.

I'm in Tennessee so ordering live sawn pine from you (if you do carry wide plank pine), would probably be cost prohibitive. Do you know how I go about finding live sawn wide plank pine in the USA?

What is live sawn?? You mean flat sawn, right? If a log is flat sawn (which is what you have on the picture and call live sawn) It will produce some quarter, rift and flat sawn lumber. From which quarter sawn is the most stable. If a log is quarter sawn, it means that all the boards have the year rings in about a 90 degree angle to the width of the board. That is the most stable wood and will move less than rift or flat sawn wood. I am not arguing that wide plank floors can be made, but your explanation about live sawn (I guess a term made up by you, wich really is flat sawn) is simply not true.
