I was thinking the same thing with the other DIY walls...the moss is already grown out, and some of the videos had huge amounts of moss. But instead of tying them to one layer of the mesh and having instant wall, not to mention easy access to light and growing out as they are right now, the moss are instead placed between two sheets of mesh and not many people had a video evidence of how the moss actually does eventually growing out from between those two pieces of mesh.

That all depends on how big your tank is oppose to mine. The hobby doesn't go by watts anymore now that we have discovered that what really matters is, the kalvins and lumens.. Look at some of the videos i posted i have all the specs and i show the box of the bulbs i have.. remember watts dont cause photosynthesis, kalvins do... its all about the spectrum of the lights

Really nice moss wall and hairgrass is awesome. In my tank I used also the plastic mesh but cut them in 12 pieces and made like tiles of moss and put them in the foreground of my tanks and looks pretty cool, I have 6500 Kelvin bulbs with 900 lumens and my plants grow very nice, I want to clarify, my tanks are low tech. and yes your theory definitely works I know it first hand but my moss looks a darker bright tone of green, I wonder why?

Elvisr29 can you please add what size aquarium is this and more about the lighting in the video's description. I bought one of the clip on desk lights from WalMart but it says that the maximum CFL light bulb to use with it is 13 watts. Is that the light bulbs you are using in your lights? Thanks!

Dang that wall on the right looks crazy. I just ordered some java moss, so hopefully I'll be able to grow out a wall for a ten or twenty gallon. (or 125 if I'm patient lol) Really digging the single sheet idea and just sewing it on there. Do you think the moss will attach within two or three months before some cotton sewing thread disintegrates? Fishing line is nice, but it seems to catch the light too often. Great vid.

Lucky for you I sell java moss. I sell is suppper cheap and you can get lots.
I sell tennis size balls for only 5 bucks. I mean real tennis size balls. I have buckets of this stuff in the back yard. Let me know if you need java moss. we can talk about it..
