Derek: “Do you take any neuroprotective neurotrophics to help combat Alzheimer’s?”
Dude: “No, because I forget”

Not gonna lie, I used Modafinil for the first time ever about 2 years ago, I'm 51.

I was working on a national project that demanded a load of focus, I have serious focus issues, I didn't even know why. I work as a senior exec in big pharma.

I remained razor-sharp and focused, it was insane, I hadn't been that clear in my thinking ever, I absolutely smashed the project, even when I look back at my notes I'm like "holy shit, did I really write this thing"?

I explained my experiences to my doc, who referred me to psychiatry, they did all the AD tests and concluded I needed long-term treatment. I only take it when I have something big coming up. Honestly couldn't believe the difference it made to me, my vocabulary, my depth of thought, intellect, it all just came

I don't think the total benefit of taking multiple stimulants is worth it in the long run, when you adderall up.

I wish Derek would do more videos on adderall. Not guest speakers or whatever, but his actual opinion.

Adderall almost ruined my life, stay away if you have even the slightest amount of addictive or substance abuse tendencies. And yes I had a prescription, and was diagnosed.

Using stimulants is like buying energy with a credit card. Eventually, you're going to have to pay the bill.

A few years ago I was so gassed up on Adderall that I spun out of control. Just now getting out of the hole I dug for myself. Be careful with these.

They dont make you smart they just give you energy. People full of confidence sound smart but in realities just run with whatever they researched that sounded good. Rarely is it reviewed or experienced.

I worked at a major corporation in their Finance department. I was the only analyst who didn't take Adderal during "crunch" time. The Directors and VPs were completely oblivious to the amount of work they required from us. We'd be working 7am to 9pm for a couple weeks and the other analysts would just be completely hyper-focused, popping pills.

"Nicotine is great for productivity if you're not addicted to it. That's why I need to get a nicotine hit at least 4 times every day, it's for productivity, I'm totally not addicted"

“I’m sensitive to stimulants” ….drinks coffee, slaps on a nicotine patch and pops an adderall lol. On a serious note, don’t take adderall recreationally. I’ve known a few meth addicts in my 38 years….they all started with adderall.

You say that nicotine as a drug isn’t addictive but I’ve literally seen people all the time quit smoking for alternatives and then gets addicted again to a different way to consume nicotine….

I was a ritalin guinea pig when i was kid i started at 7 and ended it at 16.
At 14-15 they switch me for dexedrine wich has emphetamine in it!I was legaly on speed at school while other kids would get kicked out if they have it.
Dude these chemical ruined my child/teenagehood i was 6'2 150 and unable to eat at school, always paranoid and this is how i learnt to socialise and build my identity.I have very strong adhd but never ever felt like it helped me beside being quiet in the classroom like i got punch in the stomach.

Honestly id love to talk to that mf who prescribed it to me.I was freaking 7 how could i understand anxiety and explain it to them at such a young age?
They would look at my note and performance at school but nobody ever asked me how i was feeling.
As an adult its fine but giving amphetamine to a kid i just disgusting.

Sorry for my shity english

Man to say nicotine isn’t addictive is CRAZY to me 😂

Nicotine gum for studying is very nice.
Physical withdrawal also isn't that unpleasant. I actually enjoy the cognitive impairment the withdrawal gives me in certain social situations, because it allows me to just be in the moment, because I lack the cognitive ability to overanalyze.

Only downside to nicotine is that after chewing gum all day for studying and feeling amazing (like 10mg in total), I feel depressive symptoms reliably like 1 hour after the last gum.

Modafinil didn’t do much for me. Adderall is effective and when I could afford it and they had it in stock, Vyvanse was my focus drug of choice. Smoother and friendlier than the for me potentially edgy Adderall.

I've been on 50mg of Vyvanse for the last two years. It's been life changing for me. It's like turning off a light switch with flickering lights and turning on a different working light
