This is how I print on Tissue or Rice Paper at Home. I have an Epson Workforce Pro printer (WF-4745) which is an inkjet printer. I seal the ink with a Micador Picture Varnish Satin, but you can also used a Workable Fixative, or a Picture Varnish in Matt. All my sprays I use are from Micador.

The Image I am printing is free but its to be used for the December and January Challenge. Michelle has loads of gorgeous images available so check out her very affordable art packs available at Michelle Grant Designs:

Thanks, this was helpful. I use rice paper images to put transfers onto clay. Rice or tissue paper. So, another use for your technique. 🙂

This was an excellent tutorial and demonstration. I've been printing on tissue and rice paper for a while and never thought of using washi tape. This video also gave me the idea of printing on transfer paper. Thanks for the great tips.

I tried to do it with scotch tape. Now I have one of the rollers on the back of my Brother printer coated with burnt paper. Can not get it out. Will have to take it somewhere and have it disassembled and have it cleaned. The rice paper actually burned to the roller. I hope that I do not have to buy a new printer. What brand of spray varnish are you using and do you spray the paper before inserting it in printer? Thank you

Thank you so much for the spray varnish tip! I was trying to figure out how not to have the ink jet bleed once I apply decoupage transfer medium on it. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for the video Karen. I'm from Canada. What is "Washie tape" ? Is it just routine tape ? (like Scotch tape?) Thanks for your help!!! - Chris

Would have been nice to see how you put it in printer with picture.

This is a really good tutorial, but I would suggest to show how you at least insert the paper in the printer. You explain that off screen, but would be more helpful to people to see the side of the sheet as you put into the printer (even if you won't show the printing step). I hope makes sense.

Good video but viewers want to watch everything you do like putting it in the printer

I've watched like 5 of these videos now from different channels and not a single one has ACTUALLY SHOWN the printing step. Why on earth would I want to watch you cut paper for 5 minutes, just show us how you printed it!!
