The congress regularly demonstrates that they choose to pursue topics that are popular and refuse to conduct their basic duties. An example of this is the national debt and fiscal budget. The basic operation of the nation should be a priority for any elected official; your agenda can come after you get your requirements done. Harris is wrapping herself in whatever dialog that she thinks will buy her the votes to win. It is truly ridicules that she chose abortion as her hail mary, because Trump is not a die hard pro-lifer. Further, if the GOP had half a brain, they would run campaign ads focused on how many years the DNC held both chambers of congress and the executive and failed to codify women’s reproductive rights, but were more than willing to serve the needs of those who secured their power.

Re the free speech segment: Unsurprisingly, the guest did not mention AIPAC's role in policing speech regarding Israel during his otherwise laudable exposition on the importance of free speech and the dangers of groupthink and tribalism. One could reasonably conclude that the guest doesn't truly believe in free speech when it comes to Israel. I'm disappointed that neither host asked the guest out for this.

I agree with the filibuster. The 6 votes means not only does one party need to agree with the bill or bills. They need some more moderate people on the other side to agree with the vote. So really only a few one sided votes would get through the filibuster. The filibuster used to be 80 percent votes at one time.
