As a retired Captain flying heavy aircraft internationally, that runway is MINE until I exit. The Tower Controller is an absolute Buffoon! Even the Whale (747) had to realize that he was jammed in too close.

ATC screws up by not getting the separation right, and then loses his cool by blaming the pilot. This pilot deserves an apology.

"I don't care about that"
Dude you are being paid only to care about that

Even a car wash attendant has better spacial awareness than this ATC.

From CFR 91.3: "The pilot in command of an aircraft is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR, and is THE FINAL AUTHORITY as to the safe operation of that aircraft."

The tower controller was not only rude and unprofessional, but was actually encouraging a dangerous situation.

I’m the pilot. I fly the plane. I don’t give a crap what’s behind me. My mission is to land the plane safely.

This controller needs to be fired. This is from a commercial airline pilot of 25 years.

ATC cannot stack two heavies with a two mile separation fot the same runway! Not only to minimize wake turbulence, depending on a number of conditions, it can take a heavy two miles to land! This is an ATC fail!

This would have been a perfect time for the pilot to respond "Lack of planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on mine".

Unless it is an absolute emergency, no pilot should be told to exit the runway quickly when they are landing a plane full of passengers!

It's good to read many pilot comments. Thanks for being professional.

I hope this ATC was reprimanded so he doesn’t put airlines/pilots/cargo at risk like this again.

I once had ATC try to put me in holding in freezing conditions. I told them, unable due to lack of anti ice equipment and that I could do another a lower altitude. The controller denied my request and began to get snippy with me and told me I should cancel IFR then. I asked him for his number over the radio and told him he would be getting a phone call in an hour.

Don’t be afraid to call ATC out when you know they are wrong.

I think that pilot knows more about how to fly his plane than atc does.

I'm an ex controller and that is disgusting, I would never condone that shocking lack of professionalism by the tower controller!!

Much appreciation and thank you to all the pilots in the comments here. May GOD bless you ❤

While the Captain should expedite off the runway, it’s the CAPTAIN’S runway until he’s off of it.

I’m not a pilot but as a mechanic this is the automotive equivalent of a service writer telling the customer the car is ready when it’s still on the hoist. In other words the atc guy is mad at the first plane because he already told the second plane he was good to land

When I was a student pilot, (you give ATC a heads up that you are a student) and was on my first solo cross country. The ATC had zero patience. They put me on a heading and when I asked after a while if I could resume my course, they yelled at me and told me THEY would tell me when I could resume course! They left me there and after about 20 minutes I called them back and asked if I could PLEASE resume my own course because the winds had changed and I no longer knew where I was. (This was my first solo cross country and I had about 15 hours of total flight time.). They said to me “oh yeah, you could have resumed it a long time ago”. They not only put my life in danger, but others in danger as well. This wasn’t my only shady experience with ATC.
