A friend of mine was once a guard at Buckingham Palace. He guarded the interior grounds. One particularly dark night, he heard a noise which prompted him to step forward and ask: "Who goes there?" To which a rather gentle female voice replied: "One queen and 3 Corgis." 🤣😆🤣

I have always been delighted to see her love of animals displayed on so many occasions. I have the sense she loved these animals so dearly because they didn’t see her as a queen, but as a friend.🐕🐶🐴🐎

The reason she hasn’t stepped down is because many years ago, she promised her country she would never back down and always be there for them as long as she lived, I don't remember it exactly haha

She had a good sense of humor. My father literally bumped into her on a beach on an island on the west of Scotland. She was in wellies and her headscarf. Not in the least put out, they chatted for a bit. Only as she was walking away did my father realise.
