I picked up a pre built “esports ready” pc from my local computer shop. Since I did that any time I go in they give me hell of a deal, a free cleaning and discounted installs when I come in . Good dudes

Absolutely right. I think that all tech fans go through the same pipeline of a few different “holier than thou” phases, fanboy phases, and eventually land on “just do what’s best for you”

Took me 13 hours to build my fishbowl pc, never had any problems. Worked from the get go, 3 years later still going strong

Don't forget that a lot of companies offer some sort of warranty on the overall PC which means they will check it and fix issues within that time. The best, at least in the UK from my understanding, is CCL who offer a 3 year on-site warranty which means that a technician will come to your house and fix it instead of having to send it back.

As someone who fully built my first PC, I’m getting a prebuild next time. Literally took a year of troubleshooting to make the pc work as intended. I was 18 so theres that too 😂

Troubles shooting 10h might be exaggerated. I think he means. Turn pc on + install drivers + install browser + install Steam + install games + install work stuff + some settings.

For someone brand new into PC gaming, I’d recommend buying a prebuilt and learning how each major component works.

When I as a kid, my dad bought a Packard Bell and an eMachine (yep, I’m a millennial 😂😭). I eventually wanted to get better gaming performance, so I bought a tnt2 graphics card from eBay. Years later when I finally got my first job, I put together my own PC. This was right before or shortly after YouTube was created, so I had to figure it out on my own using the manual.

The most honest PC builder I ever met knew that trying to compete on hardware was for morons. Instead, he told you precisely what to buy from where, had it shipped directly to him, and he charged an hourly fee to put it all together and test it thoroughly. You got the *exact* PC you wanted for the price of the parts + his labour. Nice.

If you do buy a prebuilt, obtain and print out a complete list of parts. It will help tremendously if you need to fix something later

For me it's the fact prebuilts from main name brands will always cheap out in some form wether it be the motherboard or the ram. It's best to get them done from custom online providers instead of places like best buy or Alienware or even some companies like ROG

My current computer is a pre built from walmart. I used to always used to build my PC and thought just buying a pre built was blasphemy.

But then My last PC died, and I was walking through Walmart and saw this pre built PC that is actually pretty good. And it only cost like 150 dollars more than if I was to buy all the same parts and build it myself.

The convivence of walking out with it same day, and saving the time to build it, plus a year long warranty was totally worth the 150 to me.

The word Bottleneck also reduces into atoms because pc manufacturers always go with good combos

a lot of prebuilts have non standard parts, a small if any upgrade path, and not enough airflow to watch the thug shake at 8k
