Shukren Dr. Danoun. I'm glad for your generous information. As an epilepsy patient I saw that how missing one day morning tablets put me in a mess for more than a week. Since then I'm putting 3 alarms in 10 minutes difference.

Hello Dr. Danoun thanks for all videos you post it. As patient I could understand the point. Regular patient but get it 🙂. Regards Dr.

The only concern with increasing the dose is side effects increase to becoming severe. I understand the meds are important for seizures but neurologists need to consider the severity of the side effects. We give our son a lower dose of Vimpat and Zonisamide and bridge a very low dose of Ativan when needed. Also he gets medical marijuana CBD/RSO and is on the keto diet. This is the dam we built for him to try to reduce the seizures. Our neurologist agrees. High dosing of medication can be mostly counter productive as opposed to productive. Try a lower dose with other added factors like mmj and the ketogenic diet. Unfortunately some of the side effects from seizure meds can be horrific and this is where most neurologists miss the mark.

At 61 woke up to paramedics telling me I just had a seizer in my sleep in bed, I had two in my sleep last week and can hardly remember some things but I don't know if I will have a frequency worth of taking any medicine with side effects.

I’ve never been told that I can take a double dose if I miss my morning meds.

I miss my doses because I feel scared of the side effects of the medications or long term effects. How do I overcome this resistance ??

My seizures reduced after brain surgery and then I found out I was having seasonal seizures which means I would have more seizures in the fall and winter compared
to the spring and summer and this is all do to the lack of serotonin in the fall and winter. I started cold water therapy where I have to put a cold washcloth on my
face and the back of my neck 3 times a day and anytime I start to feel a absence or complex partial seizure start and when I do the cold water stops the seizures.
I am drug resistant and my case is so different that both my neurosurgeon and Epileptologist asked my permission to share it with other Drs. at medical meetings
and I said yes.

Drug Resistant Epilepsy is where I am. RNS-320 because: 1. Temporal Lobes 96% L / 4% R that no medication was able to stop... and 2. my memories, both short and long term are disappearing at an exponential rate. So, in my hope of retaining as much of my ability to remember as possible, for as long as possible, I decided to use the Neuropace option.
( Cause of my Epilepsy was a TBI in 1996. Permanently Disabled )

I have been with seizures since 2019, i came to prove that they r seizures in 2023, i was taken to the hospital & did E.EG results were normal, i started levetiracetam, no change seizures continued. July i have taken to the hospital and did E.EG again& still the results are normal, the doctor added me tegretol 400mg, i take levetiracetam and tegretol 400mg altogether but since july, e seizures r worsening no change and yet am on medication. So when i watched this video, i have thought that may b my body is drug resistant, so am here thinking many things but for sure seizures have put my life at a risk.

I have tonic-clonic epilepsy and thought that medication would not help me I have tried, sodium valproate, levetiracetam. And now I take lamotrigine and clobazam together but I never thought that it can make it more worse if you dont take them EVERY day. Hopefully this will help
