According to Wikipedia entry on Ashoka, Christopher Beckwith, a philologist at Indiana University, does not think that Devanampiya of rock edicts is Ashoka. I would be grateful if Dr. Roy would comment on that.

Maybe devanampiya piyadasi is a kalashoka or devrakshit king.. But i think, the problem in greek chronology.. Also.. Because reference point Cristian era (year 0) is not trustable.. I think we must forget the Christian era completely...then we have reliable chronology..we need to find concrete reference point like comet visit to earth, earthquakes, or any natural activities who recorded in many parts of ancient civilizations...
