In this video, I look at how the Mauryan Engineers erected the Ashokan pillars. The Ashokan pillars are enormous in size and during the process of their placement, the Mauryan Engineers had to face some problems. How the Mauryan Engineers solved these problems is the main focus of this video.

Thanks for the engineering aspect. The link you mention at the end -arguments about the origin of structures - doesn't appear in the video. if possible, put the links in the video description.

About 14 years ago, I came across a foreign archeological team reporting on a structure, perhaps a fort that was a bit older than Asoka's structures. It was somewhere in Kalinga to the best of my recollection.

I am reading about ALEXANDER THE GREAT Persians Achaemenids fielded according to modern estimates 1 lakh to 1 lakh 50 thousand, they had an empire stretching from Anatolia in west to indus in east and jaxartes in north to modern day iraq in south . If they can raise only such an army and ruling most of known world, then how a tiny kingdom of porus which at most contains two modern district at most have an army which consists 50000 infantry . And nandas they control only north india excluding Gujrat, kashmir, northeast ND northwest .How can they raised 2 lakh infantry.

Also, why don't we seem to have proper Manuals for constructing palaces, homes etc from Pre-islamic india unlike the Byzantines and Other Europeans who kept extensive manuals and records????
