My Duro’s second hand hits the markers perfectly. I got it for $36 on Amazon. I also got a multi band, solar g shock at Wal Mart for $25. It was on clearance.

Recommend
1) The 1953 Pro Diver by Invicta
2) Timex Waterbury Traditional day-date automatic 40 mm or 42 mm
3) Casio G-Shock 5600
4) Seiko 5 SNK 795

All great watches which are part of my own collection.

You can absolutely do anything with a G Shock. My dog has been wearing a DW-6900 since September. It's attached to her collar. Recently I washed her collar. I chucked it complete with watch in with some work clothes. It went through the heavy duty hot wash cycle, then a fast spin, then the heavy duty hot rinse cycle, and then another fast spin. Watch and collar came out clean and perfect. So yes, G Shocks are fantastic. Also got my GWG-1000 Mudmaster three years ago today. That's what got me going in this silly hobby. Nice video. Thanks.

I recently purchased a Bertucci A1S 36mm for $100 and absolutely love it!!! Good one to add to the list 😊. Also, you can’t forget the Casio DW5600-1V as well. Just picked up one of those at Walmart for $48 as well.

99% of the people do not care what you have on your wrist. If you are buying expensive things just to impress others, you are doing it wrong.

I would actually do two Orients... A Mako 3 for your diver/sports/everyday, and a Bambino for your dress watch. That puts you at about $400...and then a gshock dw5600 for beater/travel watch and you still have enough money to buy a Casio Ae1200 just cause

I have an affordable 3 watch collection:
Casio GA 800 - a daily beater.
Casio AW 500 "Tokyo music nights", a reissue of the first analog G shock.
Orient flight
Two G shocks and one automatic... I don't have a dedicated dresswatch atm

Suggestion for another G-Shock would be some of the solar variants. They may be a smidge over $100, but IMO solar is a huge upgrade for any G-Shock!

Great choices 😄👍
My under $500 collection would include:

1. A G-Shock (indeed a separate category 😅 …. digital Quartz):
G-5600UE-1JF for $99.99 🇯🇵

2. A Sport/Field watch (automatic):
Swatch CONFIDENCE 51 for $240.00 🇨🇭

3. A modern dress watch (automatic):
SEA-GULL 2023 Seagull Business Watch (819.12.6075) for $94.50 🇨🇳

4. A diver-style watch (analog Quartz):
CASIO MRW-200H for $29.95 🇯🇵

TOTAL: $464.35 😅 ……

So I can throw in a
Timex Unisex Weekender 38mm for $34.99 🇺🇸

….. New TOTAL: $499.34 😂😂😂😂

How did it take me this many episodes from this camera angle to realize the clock on the wall isn't running. I guess you're just THAT captivating.😁

I´d add a field watch, something from Bertucci or Timex would be great

Great video, Jory. There's great value to be had as this list demonstrates...and searching for hidden gems is great fun as well :)

A month later, looking at the Timex Q 38mm it's price is generally well over $200 today. I have 2 Duro, a blue and a black. Put a Casio Duro bracelet on the blue, not so good. But on the Black, a Long Island Watch bracelet makes it a most comfortable watch to wear. I know, the bracelet cost more than the watch, but I really like the Black dial Duro. By the way, both Duro's second hands index like crap and perhaps, if it ever bothers me I'll have the second hands removed. :)

1 G-Shock, 1 Orient/Seiko dress watch, 1 Casio Duro, and save the money from the two remaining watches for straps, and bracelets. The perfect combo.

Where did you find a new Timex Marlin for $94. I’ll buy one right now! Also all quartz watches don’t hit the markers so I always think that’s not fair to even list that as a negative unless it’s like a grand Seiko quartz or something.

I bought timex falcon eye for 60 dollars in sale, and people love that watch got so many compliments on that watch .

Great video Jory. Thanks for sharing the gems n then some.

Just Lourve that enjoyment you had when you shared those great watches... 😁

I tend to look for mine in the preloved (but still almost mint) market:

Casio Duro witha Bond Nato - 20 bucks
Seiko SNXS73 witha aftermarket oyster bracelet - 80 bucks
Orient Commuter Teal Dial with Golden Gold - 80 bucks
Seiko SNK381 - 90 bucks
Tisell Explorer Automatic 39mm watch - 100 bucks
Casio MTP-100 (New witha Sapphire Crystal) - 65 bucks
Orient Mako 2 - 100 bucks

Total = 535 bucks.

Okieeee... I'm 35 bucks over the budget but hey, I digress... 😁

Great watches needn't come with even Greater price tags. 😁

I might suggest the timex expedition for everyday watch, the bronze case looks great with a leather nato. Got it at Wally World for ~$40.
Dress: Seiko 7N 43 (I got mine at an estate sale for under well under $100.)
Dive: Duro seems to be working for me $40 Amazon.
