Isn't this just a re-phrasing of that old line "It's our duty to save them from themselves"?  I have no doubt she loves her son. But I'm not sure this ad is a step forward; it's a step sideways at best.

Just as it had done with with slavery, Christianity is once again renegotiating with itself, this time regarding homosexuality.

If not, the religion risks becoming nothing more than a sad history lesson of America's past.

The good thing is, that renegotiation is already happening, as evidenced by the recent voting outcome of the Presbyterian General Assembly.

Religious folk will either get on board or get left behind.

In JAMES 4:12 it says "THERE'S ONLY ONE LAW GIVER AND JUDGE.
HE WHO IS ABLE TO SAVE AND DESTROY.BUT WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE YOUR NEIGHBOR? "
There are so many quotes in the bible that show the HATEFUL, BIGOTS out there who are throwing hates and claim to be Christian are wrong and wrong.

Just by the fact that you are crying, shows me that you do not fully accept your son. It is actually scary that you feel that being gay is a very sad thing and that your husband will "die" by the news. This does not look like acceptance.

I believe the passion shown in this video for showing the world the Love of Christ is an excellent resource. However, according to scripture, WE are all NOT God's Children. Let me explain. First, scripture points out to us that God has created all things, including humans. But it was Paul who taught us according to the acceptance of Christ and his message, that we become a child of God, adopted into the family, for we are a Gentile Nation, and not Jew. Christ was a Jew....God the Father sent his only son into this world to die for the sins of this world...that included homosexuality. I love all homosexuals with the Love of Christ..and that same Love that Christ would tell them is..."repent of your sin before it's too late, and turn to Christ and become a new creature IN Christ..." This woman makes it sound as if she accepts the lifestyle of her sons, and does not give any reproof of what scripture has to say regarding their sin. I truly believe that the most gracious love I can give a gay person, is to tell them the truth regarding what scripture has to say...it not only may save their life, but ultimately their soul.

To say that you are a Bible believing Christian and that you support your son's homosexuality is a contradiction.  If you really believe that the Bible is 100% true, then you can't accept homosexuality as OK.  You can love your gay son, you can pray for him and welcome him into your arms, and, yes, into the church (and to be perfectly clear, you should), but you can not claim to believe the Bible and condone homosexuality.  The Bible is clear on this issue.

"Nothing in my life had ever prepared me for that, " she says, crying to the camera. Why? Because she knows it's an abnormal lifestyle and will increase her son's chances of an early death according to the CDC.

I wonder if she believes her fellow church members should be forced by the state government to take photos of her son's future wedding or be allowed, per their religious beliefs, to refuse. Or do others have to follow along with her changed beliefs, too? And if she does believe her son deserves the legal right to force someone to photograph his wedding and bake his wedding cake, I wonder what punishment she believes is fair. Thousands of dollars in fines? Jail time? 

And, finally, does this lady not realize that most homosexuals are anti-religious and rabid atheists, and they mock the Bible she's reading and that "miracle zombie" Jesus she was referring to. But I'm sure they were very nice to her for this commercial -- and laughed all the way back to HRC HQ. 

Get ready, Mississippi! Progress is on the way! And it will run you over -- in the name of love and tolerance.
