Stop saying 'Judge not' if you don't know what it means

Matthew 7:1...Judge not, that you be not judged. Many people use this verse out of context, interpreting Jesus’ meaning as “You don’t have the right to tell me I’m wrong.”

Jesus’ command “Do not judge” does indeed seem to be cut and dry at first look, however there is much more to the passage than those three words. Let's look at this in context and see what God's word really says about judging.

I say Amen ! Yes indeed. Those siblings in Christ whom we have pointed out their wrongs will use this on us! Praise God for raising you as His faithful servant to teach the truth of His words! This is so so valuably insightful to us. Thank you so much brother Michael for explaining in depth this super abused verse! I pray that God use you and all in Reformed Fellowship Church to keep teaching His words faithfully and truthfully to His sheep whom Lord has entrusted you. Hallelujah. Amen.

For untrue judgements, it is never always as simple as a liar who is judging. There's knowing something is a lie and then there's not knowing enough to know you are believing a lie. One is bearing false witness the other is ignorance, assumptions, prejudice, and having established false beliefs that they believe are true right from the start. People who are convinced that a lie, or an incomplete truth, is correct.

An unintentional liar. Someone misguided who has misunderstanding. I'm sure it's comforting to think that the people who judge are either intentionally right or intentionally wrong; but it doesn't acknowledge the people who are accidentally wrong. Who do not lie on purpose as they do not yet know they do not speak the truth.

Quick and hasty judgements, the most common kind, are often untrue judgements not out of someone consciously aware of their lies; but someone already thinks/feels/believes they have the truth. The people unaware of their ignorance even if they are not entirely untrue. This can be a subset of people who judge based on appearance and surface level information.

Untrue judgements can be far more destructive if a person only judges someone internally than if they externally judged them as if it's internal there will be no way to clear up the misunderstanding or prevent how they will be externally with you going forward.

This video should have more views from all Christians and non-christians, so they don't use this verse in vain.

God bless, brethren ...

We all judge. Those who say "judge not" are the most judgmental people.

Well said it’s a common card pulled on Christians and none Christians too but the hard part is that I feel it gets used as a “oh you’re not being the Christian you said you are.” You were spot on about context it’s all the previous events included up to the point you cross that verse which is of confusion. So many misunderstand that verse is mostly hypocritical judging is how I’ve seen it .

Possible even on a my sin weighs less than yours . Sin is Sin nobody is better than the next we all sin differently

Most misunderstood Bible verse.

We have a duty to judge sin and judge false teachings, the Bible makes that clear. What we should not do is - judge hypocritically, cruelly and never judge Salvation.

Enjoyed this! I recently made a video on the subject as well and then decided to check out a few other videos on the subject. Context is so important!
