How to play Push-Pull Technique

Thank you so much. When I first got into drums at like 12, I fell in love with Moeller. Then I got into metal and fell in love with more finger-based techniques. This is like the best of both worlds, and your explanation made it instantly comfortable. I'm going to grind this technique out all year and really make it part of my playing. Thank you again!

I've always been able to do this with my right hand, but my left hand is weak, and it seems to bother my thumb and index finger, and my wrist keeps trying to twist . Maybe it was 20 years of poor technique?

Hello, someone having had pain in the muscle between the thumb and the index finger while playing the pull-push technique? (the muscle name is adductor pollicis if I got my google search right). I don't get to play a full song without it hurting and was wondering if someone had the same issue and figured out why. With many thanks in advance!

Wenn ichs richtig sehe, hast du den stick genau auf der vordersten Linie deines Zeigefingers. Wenn ich Push-Pull übe, liegt der stick vielleicht 1cm weiter hinten, zwischen den vordersten Linie und der mittleren. Dabei krümmt sich der Zeigefinger ein bischen um den Stick und hält ihn. Bei dir sieht es eher so aus, als ob du alle vier Finger jedes mal ganz streckst, auch den Zeigefinger.
Mache ich da was falsch? Es funktioniert bis jetzt ganz gut, aber ich will nichts lernen was ich später vielleicht bereue.

If I ever get the chance I'm an guy and an old-school drummer who hasn't touched a kit certain a while but I will do a video if I can demonstrating that the push pull technique is not with Buddy Rich did everybody tries to think that that's what buddy rich did with his hand left hand especially it isn't! If what you're doing is push pull I can do it with one finger on each hand or my thumb. It is not the Moelle technique because I knew Jim Chapin personally RIP but I do appreciate your trying to help the younger guys using this technique is helpful but it's just not with Buddy Rich did. Hope you understand.
