The US has the highest maternal mortality of "developed" countries and its only getting worse. These things are preventable. Septic shock is caused by an infection! An infection likely caused by her c-section that was missed or ignored.

This was supposed to be a feel good story but I am pissed for this woman. A fight she and her family should NOT have gone through. Sending them so much love and healing.

There's no limit to how strong a mother can be when the kids need her.

Our youngest grandson went into septic shock, due to an infection. By time his parents got him to hospital, his little legs were turning white. Thankfully the doctors knew he was arriving via ambulance, and has been informed about his condition. He was put straight away into an induced coma, and giving strong antibiotics via IV, he survived, with no problems. This was just before his first birthday, we can never thank the medics in the ambulance and the doctor in A AND E. he is 6yrs next Tuesday and a football fanatic.

They need to sue. This is malpractice. Hospitals have to start being held accountable of the death rate will keep rising.

I got sepsis 3 days after giving birth naturally. Was in the ICU for a couple days. They never did figure out where the infection was in my body but luckily I survived and fully recovered.

I met someone where she went septic and was forced to give birth. Lost her eye sight and 3 limbs. She didnt even get to see her baby. What she taught me though is what she learned. It wasnt about strength. It was about accepting that you just cant parent for the next year. You have to recover and learn to adapt to your new life. Let everyone else care for your family right now. It got to the point where she actually said what being blind and mostly helpless taught her. She said that she wanted to hear trials of others. She said that when you go blind and can only rely on listening. Your brain focuses so greatly on what you hear. She felt that someone who failed a test could feel as much pain and sorrow as she felt nearly losing her life. She wanted those who helped her, to tell her about their own troubles. She said how everyone has different trials but her trial is no greater then failing an exam. It made her so humble. More humble to where she teaches others, not just her kids. She wants to teach others that sometimes its just not about you. Even in the midst of trials. You have to learn how to help others when you also need help.

Exactly why I hate when doctors try to make it seem like c-sections are a safer option. IT’S MAJOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY!!! My heart goes out to this momma and her family 💔🙏🏿.

OMG Thank God for those doctors that were able to save her! Pregnancy is really an experience that's on the verge of death!

She’s a very strong women. What a beautiful soul, she will inspire so many people. My niece was born with a birth defect on her right foot. The right foot never developed. She had multiple surgeries, by age 7 she had below the knee amputation. We are glad that was her last. My niece doesn’t miss the right foot, because she was born without it. I meet a teenage girl at my niece’s therapist office. She lost some of her right leg due to cancer; in order to save her life and for the cancer not to spreed they removed part of her leg to save her from cancer. The girl missed her leg so much, was so embarrassed at middle school, and she didn’t want to go out; she fell into depression. Unlike my niece. Why do I bring this up is because we need people like Krystina to be that inspiration to may other people from all ages; many will be able to relate to her and feel inspired by her strength. Much love to her and her family.

So proud of this mama for pulling through! Happy she’s home.

Was in labor for 3 days in Nov 2019. Had an emergency c-section due to contracting an infection, doctor had to staple me instead of stitches. Staples were removed almost 2 weeks later via staple remover, no numbing of the area so yeah it hurt. Once removed, my c section opened in 2 places, it was burned with nitrate to try to close the wounds. Ended up in the hospital a week later due to infection where the wounds reopened.

My beautiful daughter is 3 now, I have a scar to remind me of it but it was all worth it for her!!! ❤

It doesn’t say what caused the septic shock. These are things, all women, particularly those who want to be mothers, need to be aware of.

An infection caused by her C-section. That makes it scary to go to the hospital where she went. :(
