I’m 59 years old..Born and raised in Walton county..Lived all of my life there minus 2 1/2 years…That beach is part of me..I can’t express how angry this makes me feel..I knew personally, dozens of families up and down this beach that owned huge amounts of it and this would have’em rolling in their graves because they knew it was rare and fragile and belonged to the people…I pray for the end of federal flood insurance . I think that has to be the first step back towards sanity.

Most people can't relate to what I'm about to say. My grandparents were born here in 1903. I was born here in 1958 in Tampa Bay. I've lived in Clearwater, FL for 66 years. So many people have moved down here from up north now. They have ruined Florida. The riff raff on the beaches now sucks. It's out of control. Call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye. I should write a song. As for spring break, we always thought it was college kids. No it's not. It's trash that comes here and gets into trouble.

Grew up on 30A when you couldnt see another person for half a mile...this kind of greed and corruption is rampant. Beaches should remain open to all. You dont own the ocean.

It breaks my heart to see this actually happening. I lived there for 21 years with my folks until 6/2022, and they are basically pricing the 99% of people out of the area. The 1% have taken over, and it's just ridiculous

No public tax revenue should be spent to maintain any shoreline that is under private control. Let those who claim 'ownership' pay for repair & maintenance. Impeach or vote out all who passed such a law in the Florida Legislature as public shoreline should NEVER be private just as public schools should have never been converted to private charter schools to evade integration or used as a means to dismiss members of the Teachers Union.

Similar thing happening in Collier County, FL. Every year Naples city takes more and more public parking away. Signs go up saying 'Residence parking only'. Marco Island city gave/leased a big public parking lot to the Marriott Hotel a couple of years ago. Side street parking is for residence only. Only two very small public parking lots remain near south beach. Sly way of privatizing beaches.

We all pay Federal taxes and massive amounts of our Federal taxes go to subsidizing flood insurance and FEMA funding for costal community relief and Federal shoreline restoration to the benefit of these private beachfront owners. That's got to change. If you make beaches private, then those landowners should not be getting public benefits!!! Private beach owners should not be able to get subsidized Federal Flood Insurance !

Enjoyed the video, I too, am a realtor here along 30A and I drive the beach tram, yes I am the driver on this video! I agree with your points regarding the private beach access. I moved here from Ft. Worth, Texas about a year ago because of Grayton Beach. Come see us on the beach tram soon and enjoy the beach.

I moved out of California for a reason and this was one of them. In California this is the reason why we have some of the worst public beaches along a beautiful coast line. Most of the beaches in California are either labeled NO TREASPASSING, Not a Public Beach, Private Beach or we have a public beach with limited parking which they will of course charge you a fee for, no parking for miles and it makes it only easy accessible to people who live in that area. I knew Florida was too good to be true for so long. I loved that Florida had so much access to the various coastlines, North, East, South and West. But I knew once the greedy Liberals From the west coast and the east coast collided in Florida they would find a way to Ruin a state like Florida by infiltrating the Politics and policies throughout Florida on the local and state level. Liberals thrive on corruption and greed, sadly I saw this coming to Florida because of the mass migration from areas like California and New York who are heartless and do not care about the small things that people love to enjoy, its all about money and greed.
