The truth is if you buy rubbish you get rubbish, they are built cheap and nasty. Reports of rust problems have mainly centred around the body and underneath the vehicle. It appears that certain areas of the vehicle feature thin steel, and body shops have noted insufficient steel protection, which can lead to rust forming between panels. This is a significant concern.

John Cadogan from auto cars experts did a review on this for a guy in Queensland who had the same thing happening, he ended up having to take them to court and he won

All new Cars tended to be pretty uniformly galvanized in our market, in Europe, America and Japan, places like that, from about the mid-1980s. In some Asian countries such as China and India there is no mandate for this process however Australian consumer law should protect you, products bought in Australia have to be free of defects and must be reasonably durable as per the expectations of an ordinary consumer. They do have issues mate but honestly clean it more often and you’d notice it! That roof was so oxidation

Whenever it rains my windows turn white, I got 5 years out of the paint mine is a late 2017 one of the first. So far I have had split intercooler pipe, EGR replaced and now I think the diff is shat it starts singing at 70km . It's done 104000km.

Good luck with LDV you learnt a lesson don't buy Chinese built vehicles l never would and l own a 27 year old Toyota Hilux no paint issues at all its scatched and dented but the paint on the roof is fine and l hope it doesn't rust as LDVs are notorious for and my Hilux doesn't have any rust issues only surface rust

2018 model got rust in the door Handle but great Ute for the price I feel your pain 😢

The one we have here had an accident we changed the bumper after changing it the car stop running above 8kmph

My hiace has same problems all paint on roof coming off They have shit paint also chips so easy so paying a premiume dosent always get you better

Don't feel you've got a piece of rubbish, I've seen heaps of of cars with this problem all appear to be solid white, my old triton started doing it after about 5 years, the primer is excellent but the paint doesn't appear to hold to it. My approach was a tin of matched colour and an airbrush. Everytime it started I treated the area, it didn't reappear. Car lasted 10 years before it departed this life before its useful life was over. Could be worse, you could have a metalic paint and watch the clear coat fall off

I had no issues with this car whatsoever... except the paint is falling off on a two year old car! 😅

It's not just LDV it's actually an issue in the tritons and D-maxs in the base whites.

This will get worse and panel beaters dont like to touch this as it is a pain separation issue...my i20 Hyundai has the same issue...the paint simply starts to peal off the vehicle and can start anywhere and moisture will accelerate the issue..

Paint shouldn't be coming off within 2 years .. easily fixed yes. 👌
