I met a woman who actually killed her ego. She found she couldn't think of herself as "I" or "me" but only in relationship to others, "The person standing next to the man on the bus." Total loss of any sense of self. When i met her she was the most bland, boring and unremarkable person I had ever met. She had no personality at all. And she had worked hard at getting to that point of recovering her ego. Since meeting her I realize the ego is important and "killing the ego" is bad. I say "perfect the ego." That way you are sill you but don't get in the way as much.

When people speak of ego, they speak of the negative connotation of it, most people do not fully understand the positive side of it.

Very cool! If I might suggest, putting the definitions of specific terms on screen when you introduce them would be very helpful, and sometimes you talk very quickly and it's hard to follow sometimes.

I would say that mysticism is the direct dialogue with and identification with the Divine/God. Often using techniques of intense prayer, meditation, yoga, asceticism.
Nirkvalpa Samadhi in the Vedanta tradition is an example where the mystic experiences direct communion as well as identification with the Divine.

Just a clarification, what you described with regard to a meditation on a verse of scripture is called Lectio Divina. Contemplative prayer like what people commonly understand meditation to be with the concept of the present moment being a space to encounter the Holy Spirit.

Not throwing shade. This just happens to be my special interest area. You are awesome and literally one of two occult creators that I would actually recommend to anyone beginning to learn this stuff.

No truer statement has ever been made. I'm not well off financially myself and am guilty of that but it would be nice to see pilgrimage shrines decorated with requests to actually see Jesus in the flesh rather than mundane things like money, love, etc.

I am a chaotic mystic because I don't follow one tradition, mostly meditate in a messy room, and have used the Ribhu Gita as a cupholder. I only acknowledge one God though that I see as being everything.

Say Georgina, I've aquired book about Ophidian Thelema. Are you familiar with that branch. They have some different interesting perspectives of Babalon. I just starting reading so I get more to go. It seems somewhat Tantric. Blue and gold are the colors they associate with Babalon. I found that interesting
