I worked 6 years in a Copyshop here in the Netherlands. Met a lot of people from all kinds. I basicaly never had music on in the store and there is one big difference between men and women when they entered the store. Men most often said "Ah, what is it nice and quiet here." And the women most often said "Ugh, It's so quiet in here." Meaning.. most women can't stand the quietness, because they are then alone with their (intrusive) thoughts. Men just enjoyed the quietness, because there was so much chaos/stress at home or they just enjoyed the solitude.

I remember my wife at the time saying 2 contradictory things within the same conversation. I referenced the first thing and she gave me the same emotional reaction and then I mentioned the other thing and her reaction again contradicted herself again and I kept this up until she finally heard herself, and then she just stuck her tongue out at me.
