Mind’s Eye | Ψηλαφώντας την τέχνη

Το Mind's Eye είναι μια πρωτοβουλία που σχεδιάζει συμπεριληπτικές πρακτικές για την προσβασιμότητα ατόμων που βιώνουν μερική ή ολική απώλεια όρασης στην εμπειρία της τέχνης. Το όραμα του Mind’s Eye είναι η άρση των αποκλεισμών και η προώθηση της ισότιμης πρόσβασης ατόμων με οπτική αναπηρία στις διάφορες εκφάνσεις του πολιτισμού.
Το πιλοτικό πρόγραμμα Mind's Eye οργανώθηκε στο πλαίσιο του START- Create Cultural Change και εφαρμόζεται για πρώτη φορά στο χώρο και τη συλλογή του MOMus-Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Εκπαίδευσης και Αποκατάστασης Τυφλών Παράρτημα Θεσσαλονίκης.

Επαγγελματίες από διαφορετικά επιστημονικά πεδία συνέπραξαν με ειδικούς από την κοινότητα ατόμων με οπτική αναπηρία και ανέπτυξαν συμπεριληπτικές πρακτικές για την ερμηνεία των έργων τέχνης.
Οι πρακτικές που εφαρμόζονται ως απτικο-ακουστικά βοηθήματα σε δέκα έργα της μόνιμης συλλογής και του χώρου του μουσείου εστιάζουν στην πρόκληση απτικών και ηχητικών ερεθισμάτων ενεργοποιώντας το «μάτι του μυαλού». Οι εφαρμογές αναπτύχθηκαν από τον Ιανουάριο μέχρι τον Ιούνιο του 2020, αξιοποιώντας νέα μέσα και τεχνολογίες και προτείνουν νέους τρόπους προσέγγισης και πρόσληψης της τέχνης πέρα από την όραση.

Το “Mind’s Eye | Ψηλαφώντας την Τέχνη” σχεδιάστηκε από τη Στέλα Αναστασάκη, Ιστορικό Τέχνης και Διαχειρίστρια του Πολιτισμού και υλοποιείται σε συνεργασία με το MOMus-Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης-Συλλογές Μακεδονικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης και Κρατικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης και το Κέντρο Εκπαίδευσης και Αποκατάστασης Τυφλών Παράρτημα Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο του START – Create Cultural Change 2019/20. Το START είναι ένα πρόγραμμα του Robert Bosch Stiftung, που υλοποιείται σε συνεργασία με το Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki και την Ομοσπονδιακή Ένωση Κοινωνικοπολιτιστικών Κέντρων και υποστηρίζεται από το Κοινωφελές Ίδρυμα Ιωάννη Σ. Λάτση και το Ίδρυμα Μποδοσάκη.

Mind’s Eye | Opening arts to the visually impaired

Mind’s Eye is an initiative focused on the design of inclusive practices aiming to enable people who experience partial or total loss of sight to enjoy the unique experience of connecting with art. The aspiration of Minds’ Eye is the removal of barriers and the promotion of equality in access for people with visual impairment to experience the various facets of culture.

Mind's Eye is a pilot programme created in the framework of START- Create Cultural Change and is being launched for the first time at the premises and collection of MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art, in collaboration with the Center for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind - Thessaloniki Branch.

Professionals from different disciplines have worked in close collaboration with specialists from the visually impaired community and developed inclusive practices for the interpretation of artworks.
The practices are applied as audio-haptic aids to ten artworks from the museum’s permanent collection and focus on sparking tactile and acoustic stimuli to activate the 'Mind’s Eye'. The applications were developed from January until June 2020, using newly introduced technologies and various media and propose new ways of approaching and engaging in art beyond sight.

“Mind’s Eye | Opening Arts to the Visually Impaired” was designed by Stella Anastasaki, Art Historian and Cultural Manager and is implemented in collaboration with the MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art-Collections of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and the State Museum of Contemporary Art and the Center of Education and rehabilitation of the Blind-Thessaloniki Branch, supported by START - Create Cultural Change 2019/20. START is a program of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, conducted in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, and the German Association of Sociocultural Centers, supported by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Bodossaki Foundation.
