SSL Speaks Out!

Stocks and Securities Ltd released a seven page statement, in which they shared their side of the story on the alleged theft of clients' money by Jean Ann Panton.
They clarified their stance on Usain Bolt's account at the brokerage and reiterated that Jean Ann Panton was the account manager.
They also refuted some statements and beliefs about how client funds were used.

SSL guilty as charged, they can't separate their employee, as if she's independent of the company, she works for SSL during the fraud, so they SSL didn't have proper oversight to deal with clients business.

This is fascinating. I’ve always said I hoped Bolt had people around him who were managing his money. Seems he did but turns out they were thieves.

This is an abdication of trust on so many levels: governance, compliance, internal financial controls, and a plethora of red flags for any individual with a modicum of financial knowledge. Ultimately, these situations will always manifest themselves in one way or another (always to the detriment of the public) where individuals lack basic knowledge of finance, financial products, and financial institutions. Until meaningful reforms are implemented by the government in conjunction with increased education to the public, this story will be everpresent.

All now I can't see anybody behind bars or even in handcuffs. What this is telling me is that when crimes of these magnitudes happen to the upper-class citizens it's like it's OK but meck it did happen to a lower-class person, they would be handcuffed and thrown behind bars and waiting for trial. All I will say is that they need to find back all of the client's money and shut down the business for good because nobody will ever want to do business with SSL ever again 😒 Goodnight
