I wonder what hidden caches and treasures there are in old houses. Over the decades, different occupants would have hidden various precious items, and then passed away without informing anyone or written about it somewhere. Might be worth going through with metals detectors although metal pipes and such would create false positives.

I keep my cash stash hidden in a hollow curtain rod. Even my wife doesn't know its there. She's anal about keeping tabs on withdrawals from our bank so I get fuel at a store in town that gives cash back on the card. I now have a vehicle with notoriously poor fuel economy and a curtain rod worth $4700.00.

Great idea! Hope you remember where all your hiding places are. If something happened to you the secrets and stash would go to whoever bought your house and changed the bathroom etc. Cool ideas.

if you were to hide guns there, wouldnt the humidity from the bathroom be an issue?

a note on stashing away thing in bathroom - do it in a vacuum sealed container or else humidity will have its way with it.

I would say use a book to hide your cash/cards (a book that you do not use that much), for small stuff like lipstick, you can just put it under your bed, or you can also carve a hole in your matress. Both worked for me good

When I was a kid my mom hated guns and was afraid we were going to shoot each other since us boys use to fight all the time. Well, that was the furthest thing from out mind. So when I bought my Winchester 12 gauge shotgun back in the 70s I did the same thing but only under a dresser but held that door shut by magnets. Only the dog knew that I had it hid there. He would bark and bark when I put it back in. Parents never found out. Also hiding money I just put it under the linoleum loose floor squares. Worked perfect. This isn't new just good ideas.
