Introducing the TomTom Snap To Roads API!
Some time ago we did a route reconstruction with Anna Borbotko using the Routing API. In this video we are going to expand on another solution to calculate the most probable path taken using a set of coordinates.
The Snap to Roads API takes these coordinates – and extra parameters like vehicle type – and returns an estimated route together with reverse-located points, speed limits, number of lanes and road classifications. This can help in managing the routes that delivery vans take, smoothing out the visualization of the route taken, and even checking if the driver followed the speed limits, deviated from the route, or encountered unexpected delays.
