I guess git fetch also downloads the changes but not copies to your working directory. Once you do git merge then your local repository will update with remote changes

This is really great video. Explained without any confusion. Other videos tells so much confusing thing like fetch brings the changes to local repo etc. No it does not, it only fetch latest metadata and does not do any file transfer yet. Thank for video, finally cleared my concept

Nice video. I see fetch upstream button of my forked branch in the git hub and it also updates the latest code changes but not sure how it differs from pull request.

Instead of git merge, we can use git fetch to check the changes and after that git pull to download the changes?? What's the need of a git merge here?? Can anyone please clarify

Thank you.. but I have a really important question ..
since `git pull` does the fetch + merge .. suppose that I work on branch1 and my teammate works on branch2, then I wanted to see his work and I did `git pull` .. then this will download my teammate's code in branch2, and it will also merge it at my local machine ..

then what if I added a code to my branch1 and then I did `git push` .. what will happen to his branch "branch2" since it was merged at my local machine when I did the `git pull` ?
