I have a GL 320 class 2008. it has an electronic lift gate. The gate does not open fully i have tried pressing the button on the boot to try and cancel the limit somehow and it does not seem to work. I think there might be a different way of removing the boor height limit for this model or maybe it is older say it might have a different method. can you please help me thanks!

Is there some kind of protection that prevents the gate from opening if there isn't space behind the car? Mine didn't open the other day when I was to close to a wall but then I parked the car a bit forward, tried again and it opened. I wonder if it was a coincidence and I'm afraid to try it again. It's a 2018 C class estate.

What about operating it hands free? Some mentioned kicking under the bumper or sliding your foot sideways under the bumper.

I am having trouble with my liftgate closing when the car is not running and my dealer was NOT at all helpful. He gave me two totally bogus reasons for it not working.
Very disappointed.

Spent $1000 because the actuator wouldn’t work within 5 years of buying 2012 ML350. Took it to a local mechanic and he could not do it and referred back to the dealer. These German cars are endless money pits. If at all you make a vehicle so sensitive better keep it in a showcase! Looters!!!

Most expensive shit car ever. Dealerships cant resolve the problems and Mercedes keeps putting faulty parts in all their cars. Recall the problems with solution and fix the problems for free for every customer. For instance, faulty lift gate modules needs to be re called and fixed on manfacturers expense.
