You’ve just hired a new employee, now what? Their first day should be all about them, making them feel welcomed, making them feel apart of the team, and making them feel special.

1:56 Move #1 - First Impression - Our parents always told us a first impression is everything. Studies show a new hire will decide how they feel about their new company within the first 14 days on the job. So a bad first impression could leave you with a revolving door at that position.

FIRST - Introduce them to everybody. Make sure everybody can match a face to a name and make them feel welcomed.
SECOND - Take them out to lunch, get them to interact with their new co-workers and make them feel a little special.

4:14 Move #2 - Paperwork - It’s the worst part of the job, but somebody has to do it. Get all the HR stuff out of the way day 1. It’ll cover your butt if things don’t work out.

7:17 Move #3 - Company Values - Introduce them to your company’s core values and make sure they understand where the company HAS been, where the company IS today, and where the company WILL go in the future.

First days are always challenging, use these 3 moves and the first day will fly by.
