Random positive thing, I was in a gas station bathroom trying to fix my hair after a long car ride. This older woman came out of a stall and washed her hands while i was struggling. She asked very kindly if i needed a hand and i immediately accepted. She quickly pinned back my hair and as she was doing it said "I haven't done this since my daughter was in highschool" and looked at me with the sweetest smile. It cost her nothing but a couple minutes to help and that moment stuck with me and reminds me that one action i make can change an entire persons day.

You dont share 100% of DNA with your siblings, if you did you would be clones of each other like identical twins. you get a random 50% of DNA from each of your parents so you share up to 25% of dna with half siblings and up to 50% of DNA with full siblings, depends on which alleles/traits you inherit and which ones your siblings inherit

In theory you could share 0% of dna with a full sibling if you somehow managed to get different 50% of DNA from either parents. Its super super unlikely, essentially impossible, to not show high rates of relateness due to crossing over and random assortment of cromosomes during meiosis.

My dollar story-
I was struggling financially but was ashamed to ask for help, I hadn’t eaten going on three days. All my money was going to a financially and emotionally abusive bf.
I was actually a waitress and at the end of the night the cooks said they were closing the kitchen, and I broke down. I was just so hungry and couldn’t think straight.
A waitress and a line cook saw me crying and pulled me aside, I told them.
He instantly asked me what I wanted and to not be afraid of what the manager would say. He made me a big meal and the waitress handed me 20$ on the way out.
That was 7 years ago and I’ll never forget.

I’ve since passed it on when I can, and I’ve thanked them both as well.

I’m a molecular biologist. The amount of genes you inherit from each parent is usually around 50% but varies from person to person, so the only family member you’d ever be 100% related to genetically is an identical twin.

The way I GASPED at Story 3. The walls of my apartment are incredibly thin and I heard my neighbors cooking dinner, but they must think I got stabbed bc there hasn’t been any movement since then lol.

31:18 As someone who went no-contact with my mother, stepfather & both sisters, I highly disagree with Mikayla on this. If someone has cut ties with ANYONE else, do NOT push them into reconciliation. They have their reasons for going no-contact in the first place & if they aren’t ready to reconcile, it can lead to even more hatred.

I had a little act of kindness once that stuck with me. I was running for a train after work and missed it by seconds. I was literally pressing the door button as it slid away from me. I was annoyed and had had the worst day at work so I yelled out "come on!" quite loudly. Then went and sat on a bench to wait two hours for my next train. I must have looked annoyed because a few minutes later a little girl and her mother came up to me and said they had seen me miss the train and the girl wanted to chear me up. The girl then gave me a little chocolate bunny (it was nearly easter) and said "please be happy". I honestly almost cried, I thanked her and said that she had made me very happy which she smiled at then they both left for their train. Just that little thing reminded me that there are kind people in this world, they probably dont remember it but I do! ❤
