It's pronounced Tar-ya (the r is rolled).

During this show here, End of an Era, Tarja changed many times her outfit and they were different colors with matching mics, black, white, yellow and red.

And yes, currently Tarja is on Living the Dream together -tour with Marko (well, the next part of their tour starts next week). After Tarja was fired from Nightwish (in 2005), she and Marko didn't speak or see each other in 12 years. Then they happened to be on the same Christmas tour in Finland, in 2017, and they talked things through and Marko apologised. Since then, they were okay with each other. Only until 2023, did they start collaborating again and since then they have developed a new kind of relationship and friendship. So basically, now after 20 years, they are touring together again and are friends.

Female vocalist before Floor was Anette. The original singer 1996...2005 (five albums+more stuff) up to this very performance was Tarja. She founded NW with Tuomas and Emppu. So in case you are a fan of NW...do more the original line up which made the whole band possible and pioneered the genre globally. Later came replacements to the group, which still is so grand and evolution continues. In this concert she has six or seven different dresses. If you need one name - it is Tuomas - the band father - composer, lyric writer and everything - metal Mozart !!!

This song is from Century Child 2002. Marko joined the band in 2001 replacing Sami Vänska as bassist. They never had a full time male vocalist before him.
This show was the last stop on ONCE upon a dream in Helsinki Finlad. The then named Hartwell Arena. 11 500 in attendance. this was the 18th track of the night and the last performance with the band. They all knew it. Tarja did not. Neither did her husband and manager Marcello Cabuli. He was also fired.
The drama over that nearly set off civil war in Finland and for saftey Tarja & Marcello moved to Buenos Ares, Argentina ( his home nation) to escape the madness. There 10 years until the economy and their daughter's education had them move to Marbella, Spain. Gated community for the very rich on the Spanish Coast. She has a home studio and a place for trophys, /awards, /records etc where she does interviews. Georgeous place and climate.
Yes she was accepted by the fans and still rocking 29 years from when she started in 96.
Her training is in German Lied (leed) singing. Chamber music for the stage with orchestra, choir and centuries before mics and speakers. That power to project to the back row is all her & her training.

You can see her on stage solo jumping around in heeled boots and holding the notes. She is that fit. One old DJ suggested try bouncing on your toes and singing twinkle twinkle little star while holding the note!

Yeah that is what she can do.
Now everyone will say who knows her that Tarja is very humble, veru sweet, giving of her time and.willing to give pointers to other women in metal
She was in the first wave of symphonic metsl. maybe a half dozen names known to the world. A true pioneer when there was no guidelines or roadmaps on how to do it. They just had to experiment. By the time Once.(04) came out She was happy with her voice.
her careeer has over 20 albums.
One fact Tarja met Floor in 2003, summer.in Europe. Floor at 18 fronted After Forever. They were.asked to open for NW that summer in Europe.
Fast forward to 2012. Anette is pregnant and will miss half the tour at least. The band reached out to Floor to see if she would take over.
Floor 1st went to her still friend Tarja to see if that would be ok with her. Tarja gave her blessing.
Anette either quit or was fired.
Floor has been upfront.since.
Tarja & Floor did a concert on Instagram live during lockdown. Still great friends to this day. Don't let commenters get you thinking otherwise.

3:35 both your pronunciations are wrong. Tarja is Finnish. Both the English and the Spanish pronunciation are off. As someone else wrote, Tarya is correct (but I wouldn't roll the R).

Fun fact: Tarja and Floor are RL friends, there is a video out there of both on the stage and singing together. Also, Floor visited Tarja on one of her Instagram live streams. 🙂
