Excellent tutorial. Worked a treat. These redundant files were driving me mad. One thing to add - rather than removing one by one, you can do the one command and then list the files, separated by comma with no spaces either side of comma.

Thanks for making this video. THREE YEARS AGO... Still works, happy to say.
Ditto to all the previous comments.
Those un-removable files were most annoying.

Absolutely amazing. I had already tried the compression trick and that wouldn't work on these folders but your method is 100% legit. Thank you!

What if the folder doesn't have the "file name" you copied at the last step?

I cant find my file in the cmd list. Idk why. On the second pc it worked for a folder. This is just an old apk file.

Problem: The files are a shortcut and don't show up in cmd when I do "cd (desktop)" and then "dir", help?
Edit: They were actually located in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop", used the "del" command to delete them but just pressing the delete key on them might've worked.

Thank you so much for this. I had a bunch of these in my "dwhelper" folder, but they were files, not folders. I used your method though, drilling down to the dwhelper folder, and then just "del" each individual file. What a relief!

For those who don't see the other file name in the directory, try renaming the folder itself, then relaunch it, and it should appear. At least that's what did it for me. Thanks for the help my good man!
