This scene is from "Bullitt", the coolest cop movie ever made. The band is Meridian West playing "Song for Cathy" by composer Lalo Schifrin Nat Johnson on standup bass, Al Pimental on drums, Julie Iger on flute, Francisco Obligacion on percussion, George Di Fore on Piano & Larry Vogt on guitar. Enjoy!

This scene has haunted me since the first time I saw the movie. San Francisco at its finest, Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset, and Meridian West playing music that would storm the night club scene today. Thanks for posting

I’m 58yrs and just watched today for my first time. I’ve heard of and have some knowledge about Bullitt, it didn’t realize what a very cool soundtrack it had. Great stuff.

Classic, don’t get much better than this.
McQueen, Bisset and Lalo Schifrin’s score.

It’s been many years since I’ve watched Bullitt and had forgotten about this masterpiece of a scene.

Great tune. Cracks me up when the waiter accidentally hits McQueen in the eye with the menu. Was an accident they kept on the film. Re the Meridian West band - McQueen caught them playing at The Trident in Sausalito and recommended them for use in Bullitt.

This scene was filmed at the Coffee Cantata restaurant on Union Street. I used to work there back in the 70's

As a teenager my Uncle joined the Meridian West and performed at Glide Memorial Church on Sundays. Many times I was allowed to join in on Percussion with my Uncle and thus fine group of Musicians for Sunday Jazz Church Services back in the early 70's.

Enrico’s went the way of the dodo bird just because the local techies think Taco Bell is good eats.

Too Bad Ron Burgundy wasn’t there. I wonder if this is where they got the idea for the Anhorman jazz flute scene?
