A flick through the pages of this comprehensive builders guide to the Lancaster, Manchaster and Lincoln Bombers. Hopefully SAM will reissue this book now that the HKM 1/32 kit is here and the WNW is on the way? This really is a great reference guide for the modeller.

I've got the full set of Modellers Datafile. Of note is the recent Tornado book, which has terrible upscaled plans that are of no use.

ospreys  Lancaster  squadrons 1944 -45 in the combat aircraft series will be some help as well 33 colour profiles of various marks of Lancaster all researched to that specific aircraft

I hope that book gets reprinted.
The radiator shape....taken from Canada's VeRA which is a Mk X which has Packard Merlins. But so does the Mk III. Now the original HK packaging shots show the box reading B 1 or B3 and I suspect this is where the problems come. The Packard installation is different to the Merlin installation as VeRA found out when she was in the UK in 2014 and had to borrow a Merlin from BBMF to continue the tour as they had to rebuild the complete installation to get the RR to fit.
