Sad. Knew he wasn't doing well. Bogert severely underrated when rock bassists are named.
Appice/Bogert one of the greatest rhythm sections ever. Any album with those two is a must own, Cactus being one of my faves.

I saw Tim with Carmine and Beck pre-BBA. They were a 4 piece band with a guy named Kim Milford on lead vocals. I also saw him with Cactus

Another life-long part of me. Cactus first heard ..on KAAY from Little Rock Arkansas to Northern Minnesota...1976. Then discovered Vanilla Fudge...Beck Bogert and missed. Thank's for the info Pete. We'll all be together soon for the Rockfest in the sky.

I met Tim after a gig with Carminen Apice and Jeff Beck in Gainesville... When I studied in New York I was a Vanilla Fudge fan and was truly impressed with their performance...since it was the first time hearing them together in this ensemble.
All three were gracious and we're nice to me and my friends while in Gainesville...Tim and I stayed in touch...for a little while.. What I recall is Jeff Beck was somewhat shy and Carmine was gregarious...and Tim was a bit wild..when ever I listen to their album, I can see their faces and recall how great the show was.. But most of all the time I spent with Tim. Gone too soon Love and Light and my deepest condolences to your family and closest friends.🎶🕊️

Excellent tribute. Tim Bogert along with James Jamerson were my two reasons to play the Bass. And the funny thing about that is, they both hit me right in the ear but it was on two separate songs done by The Supremes! Jamerson on "Reflections" and Bogert on "You keep me hangin' on." I was lucky enough (and old enough) to have seen Cactus at the famed Fillmore East in NYC for the "One way or another" tour. They were amazing. RIP Tim Bogert. Your place in rock history will remain forever.

Oh no. This is the first I've heard of Tims' passing. He was one of my teachers at MI in the early 90s. He shared many stories with me while we were outside on a smoke break. Greatest guy in the business. He was as genuine as they come. I know he got banged up real bad a decade or so ago in a car or motorcycle accident but heard he was doing ok.
Of all the cats I got to share the stage with, I am most proud of sharing it with him. Man was he highly respected there by all the students and pros who came to do shows there. Anyone who came there as a solo artist had to have Tim playin bass with them no matter what genre of music they played.
RIP Tim. we'll never forget you.
"Smoke em if ya got em" Tim.

Wow, so sorry to hear this. Always loved Tim's playing and personality. We actually chatted a few times on FB. He was a Harley lover also!!!! Thoughts and prayers to his family.

I saw Vanilla Fudge at my first major rock concert. They were opening for Jimmy Page and the Yardbirds on what would be the Yardbirds last tour. Tim was earthshaking on bass. A while later I saw Cactus in a 200 capacity club and it was so loud our ears were bleeding by the second song. ...We stayed for the whole thing. Tim and Carmine were absolutely thunderous. Tim was simply a rock virtuoso.

Thanks for the video Pete. I remember Carmine talking about him in your interview. I love Vanilla Fudge and BBA. Not too familiar with Cactus. I'm ready for some good news man.
